CSSC Squash – The Year Ahead and a Season in Review
CSSC Squash - 2019/2020 Upcoming Events and A Review of Last Season
Calling All Squash Players!
The sun and the heat of August will soon be a fond memory, and as Autumn comes around it’s time to dust off those squash rackets and look forward to the season ahead. Take a look at our future events and get in touch with us if you have any questions about the events or Squash in the Civil Service.
In September, we wish good luck to the CSSC National Women and Mens teams, captained by Keeley Grindle and Tim Burrell, who will be competing at the Crown Services Quadrangular Tournament. This is an annual event between the Civil Service, the Police Service, the Combined Armed Forces and the Fire and Rescue Services, held in Nottingham on 13/14th September. If anyone would like to go support the team, please do get in touch and we can provide details!
On the same day, we hope that those playing the Squash event at the CSSC games have an excellent tournament at Loughborough University!
On November 23rd and 24th, Nottingham Squash Rackets Club will once again host the annual CSSC National Singles Championship! This is competitive but social event with graded tournaments for all levels. For those looking for a social squash experience, or those looking to compete against current Champion Tim Burrell, we highly recommend you book a day off work nice and early and start your training regime. Full details can be found on the CSSC website here: https://www.cssc.co.uk/events/national-squash-singles-championships. Note, funding for travel and accommodation might be available from your CSSC region!
On 7th and 8th February 2020, we will be running the annual CSSC team championships in Nottingham. This is a fun and social event, that over the last few years has seen declining entry numbers. So ask your colleagues and friends whether they’d be interested (or get in touch with us!) and consider whether you’d want to come compete against other teams/departments/friends. More details to follow.
Finally, later in Spring 2020, those wishing to compete in the CSSC Squash and Squash57 Masters tournament will once again be invited to the annual competition.
If you have any questions about any of the events, please do reply to this email and we can help answer all your questions! We can hopefully point you in the right direction for resources and maybe even other players. And please forward this to any of your squash playing colleagues and friends in case they’re not on our distribution list!
Look out for further news on the Squash section of the CSSC website (https://www.cssc.co.uk/squash), and the CSSC-Squash website itself (https://www.cssc-squash.co.uk/).
