The annual Crown Services tournament between CSSC, Police, Fire Service and Combined Services was played at the Nottingham Squash Club on 10 and 11th September 2010. The Fire Service did not field a ladies team, so the ladies opponents were the Police and Combined services (Army, Navy, RAF). The CSSC matches were both played on Friday 10th September.

Our first match on Friday afternoon was against the Police ladies who once again were at full strength and Ruth Kneeshaw making her debut for CSSC Ladies was the only match where we were able to pick up points. She came back from being 2 - 0 down and fought hard but sadly just missed coming out on top with 9 - 7 in the fifth. Also worthy of a mention is Keeley Grindle making her debut still on Maternity leave - although she lost her match 3-0 she put up a brave performance against Police stalwart Clair Simmonds always a tough game at number 5 so well done Keeley!

We were then lucky enough to get a second match in on Friday evening when we played Combined Forces team and once again Ruth had the toughest match but this time winning 3-2 in the fifth!

The CSSC final position was second - overall a good result, my thanks to the Ladies for their support.

Final positions:

  1. Police
  2. Civil Service
  3. Combined Services
